Computing
I have enjoyed computing in various forms since 1979. During the period 1983-1985 I was in charge of Sir William Borlase’s School computing facilities for access by students.
Photography
I have been an amateur photographer for several years. I have started shooting more portrait and action photography. My major interest, though, is in landscape and nature photography
Voluntary Community Work
I am involved in voluntary work within the general community, providing web site design and maintenance for free. I look after a range of sites, and have been credited with excellent content and design skills. Recently I have updated personal web sites for two friends, and these have since gained recognition for their content. Current developments include updates to web sites for various clubs and societies.
Sport
I have enjoyed recreational and competitive sport for a number of years. The sports I have been invloved in include
- Field Hockey:
- Goalkeeper (Men’s and Mixed Hockey). University 3rd team. Mines’ Hockey Club, Kalgoorlie [A3, 1990, A1 1991]. YMCA Hockey Club [A1 Champions 1992, A1 1993]. CBC Hockey Club [A1 1994, A1 Champions 1995, A1 Champions 1996, A1 Champions 1998, A1 Champions 1999 (did not compete in 1997 as was on LSL)]. Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association [A3 Field, A2 Indoor, A1 Veterans]). I am a keen referee as well as a player, with my Western Australian Level 1 Referee’s accreditation.

- Goalkeeper (Men’s and Mixed Lacrosse. University Mixed Team. Kenton Lacrosse Club, London , Britain [A2 1987-1989]. Associated with Bayswater Lacrosse Club, Perth WA . [Played against Japan July 1990 with WA and Northern Territory ])
- Water Polo
- Goalkeeper (Dolphins B [1989-90]. Oddballs B [1990-91]. Oddballs B [1991-92] Champions)
Music
During my secondary school education I was a member of the Sir William Borlase’s School Choir. I was presented School Colours for Music. I have a very varied taste in music. I have been involved in several small choral groups on a regular basis, as well as being a member of the music ministry team at the Church of Christ, Kalgoorlie.
Other
I enjoy recreational cycling. I have been involved in the lighting and special effects departments for school plays. This included Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar”. I am an amateur chef, and enjoy preparing meals for friends and myself. I also enjoy writing poetry and painting. I enjoy spending time with my partner and friends, especially over a good meal, and with the ability to discuss and interact freely. Recently I have taken to the art of balloon Twisting as a way of relaxing and entertaining adults and children alike.
